The exam preparation manuals in damage insurance and claims adjustment may be purchased from the AMF.
Which manuals are recommended for the exams?
For reading materials that are relevant in preparing for the exams, refer to the tables listing the sets of manuals that are recommended for the examinations in damage insurance and claims adjustment. The tables list the recommended sets of manuals, for each selected sector or sector class, by competency evaluated by the AMF.
Updates and addenda

Useful information
The exam preparation manuals sold by the AMF and related addenda can be brought into the exam room.
Inserting materials such as sticky notes or loose papers into AMF manuals is prohibited unless they are used solely as dividers.
Handwritten notes in the manuals are permitted but must be related to the subject matter of the pages on which they are written. Such notes must be in English or French. Transcribing exercises is not allowed.
To ensure compliance with copyright, anyone who brings photocopies of AMF manuals or altered AMF manuals into an exam session will be asked to leave (for example, cutting a manual’s original binding and putting the pages in a ring binder or binding comb is considered an alteration and consequently prohibited).
The AMF: Distribution sector
The AMF’s mission includes:
- supervising the activities connected with the distribution of financial products and services while administering the rules applicable to representatives, advisers and brokers, across all sectors, governing eligibility for and the carrying on of those activities.
- managing such aspects as the certification of representatives and the registration of firms in insurance of persons (life and health), damage insurance (property and casualty), claims adjustment, financial planning and mortgage brokerage.
Q&A
How do I know whether I have the right version of an addendum before preparing for an exam?
Newly published addenda are available on the home page of the website. You can also do a search by manual and, if any addenda are available, they will appear on the page. Check the date carefully to make sure you have the latest version.
May I reproduce (photocopy) or alter an AMF manual?
AMF exam preparation manuals are protected by the Copyright Act and may not be reproduced or used in any form or by any mechanical or electronic means, including photocopying. They are available only at purchase.
Anyone who brings photocopies of AMF manuals to an exam session will be asked to leave.
In addition, manuals may not be altered in any way. For example, if the binding of a manual is cut and the pages are removed and inserted into a ring binder, the manual will be considered altered and will not be allowed in the exam room.
How can I find out whether new exam preparation manuals will be published soon?
You can sign up for E-mail Info by selecting “Info-Qualification” in the list of publications.
How can I send you a comment or bring an error in the manuals to your attention?
The best way is to send an e-mail to the Direction de la qualification.
AMF manuals are drafted according to a thorough process involving multiple experts. However, errors may occur despite our best efforts.
We carefully consider all comments we receive. If you think one of our manuals contains an error, we will recheck the information concerned.
What is the purpose of an addendum?
An addendum is a note that corrects an error in a manual. Individuals wishing to properly prepare for their exams should check to see whether there is an addendum to the related exam preparation manual. If so, it is important to download the addendum, since corrections that have been made are reflected in the exam questions. Check the date carefully to ensure you have the latest version.
You should also check whether a new addendum has been published before writing an exam.
How can I find out when my order will be delivered and track it?

You will receive an e-mail confirming that your order has been recorded.
