Conditions of use
The terms of use for the website and manuals constitute the complete agreement between you and the AMF regarding use of this site and any manual. Website content is made available subject to your acceptance of these terms of use and any modifications the AMF may make to them.
The AMF may, at its entire discretion, modify any part of these terms of use at any time. Each time you use the on-line service available via the AMF website, check this page to see when it was last updated and whether the terms of use have been modified. You will be bound by any changes made.
The AMF may, at its discretion, suspend, cease, or limit use of on-line services available through its website at any time, without prior notice or responsibility.
It is also forbidden to use the AMF’s on-line services when you have reason to believe that such use could expose the AMF’s infrastructures to a virus or malware.
Intellectual property
The form and content of this AMF website are protected by copyright law and by Québec, Canadian and foreign intellectual property law. Unless otherwise stated, all information available on this website is the exclusive property of the AMF. AMF trademarks, names and logos, whether registered or not, are also the property of the AMF.
Other than downloading or printing pages or using the tools, forms and manuals available through the AMF website for personal use, you are strictly prohibited from reproducing for distribution, by any means whatsoever, selling or modifying the content of this website, including without limitation the information, forms and manuals available on the website, AMF trademarks, names and logos, without the AMF’s prior written consent.
Under the Copyright Act, R.S.C., 1985, c. C-42, it is an infringement of copyright for any person to do, without the consent of the owner of the copyright, anything that only the owner of the copyright has the right to do under the Copyright Act. Therefore, the reproduction of exam preparation manuals is illegal and strictly prohibited. Illegal reproduction gives entitlement to remedies by the copyright owner. In addition, the alteration of an exam preparation manual is illegal and strictly prohibited. For example, a manual whose binding is cut and its pages inserted into a ring binder is considered an altered manual.
Limitation of liability
The texts, opinions, advice and information expressed and made available on this site, in particular the manuals, is the responsibility of the authors alone, not that of the AMF. The content and hyperlinks are provided for educational and information purposes only. They should not be interpreted as expert advice on legal, financial or personal insurance matters, or as promoting the services or products of third parties.
The AMF does not offer any guarantees with respect to this website, including the tools, forms, information and manuals available on it, or with respect to the uninterrupted access to this website, the content of hyperlinks and e-mail links posted on this site.
Since the AMF is unable to alter, update or control the content of these linked sites, it is not responsible for them and does not approve their content or their products and services.
Subject to imperative legislative provisions, the AMF is not responsible for any damage or loss related directly or indirectly to the use of this website, hyperlinks and e-mail links, including, without limitation, the use of the tools, forms, information and manuals available on the site.
Personal information protection
The Autorité des marchés financiers (“AMF”) respects your right to the protection of personal information. In entering into the Contract, you agree to allow the AMF to collect personal information strictly related to the conclusion of the Contract. This personal information will be used by the AMF exclusively to execute the Contract. The AMF will only use the information for this purpose, unless it obtains your consent to do otherwise.
The AMF is subject to the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, CQLR c A-2.1, as amended, and to the regulations made thereunder, in particular the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information, CQLR c A-2.1, r 2, and the Regulation respecting the confidentiality policies of public bodies that collect personal information through technological means (2021, c 25, s.15), which set out specific obligations regarding the collection, use, communication, conservation, and destruction of personal information. For more information, please consult the AMF's confidentiality policy in the Privacy Policy section of its website.
